The forged stainless-steel case disperses and dissipates direct impacts; resin and rubber rings protect the mechanics, absorbing shock and vibration from anywhere on the watch. The hands are fortified with brass-joining rings that stabilize the hands under extreme pressure and vibrations. Its quartz movement is protected by two rubber gaskets that ensure water resistance down to 660', and the mineral crystal face resists damage from abrading or piercing forces. The stainless steel and urethane band is attached to the case with steel lug screws, and the links are secured to each other using stainless-steel pins. The watch's atomic timekeeping automatically receives and calibrates the most current time from up to five antennas worldwide, and the solar-powered, rechargeable battery converts low-level indoor light or direct sunlight into power that lasts up to five months without further exposure.
