The game features high-energy animations and faster gameplay than traditional baseball games as well as larger-than-life players and stadiums. The primary game mode is the franchise-style Bigs League Challenge that lets gamers train players in action-oriented mini-games, earn power-ups, and play games in an attempt to win the World Series. The power-ups can be used to trigger special effects like a massive windstorm to prevent sluggers from belting a big home run. Teams are designed to have specific identities so that a good fielding team is more likely to make a spectacular defensive play than a team known for power hitting.
