Article Sites Manager

When you click the Article Sites Manager tab, which is found at the top of the program underneath the main menu, you are presented with the Google search engine. Enter a keyword - article directory, for example - just as you would do with any browser. Then watch.

Google pulls in the first page of results and ADSubmitter ads them to the Temporary list box underneath. You can see the process illustrated in the image below.

There may not always be 10 results but fewer, because ADSubmitter gets rid of any duplicates from the same domain.

ADSubmitter then checks each of the sites in the list individually, to make sure they are in fact sites powered by the Article Dashboard script. If they are, ADSubmitter adds them to the listbox to the right, the Article Dashboard sites list. This is the list which eventually becomes your master list of sites to submit your articles to.

Once you're happy with the Article Dashboard sites list, save it by going to the main menu at the top, clicking Article Sites, then Save Dashboard List, naming the file something meaningful (e.g. master list May08).

NOTE: you can open/save/clear either the Temporary list or the Article Dashboard sites list via the Article Sites option in the main menu. Any time a file is loaded, in either list box, duplicates are removed. So you can be certain urls will never appear twice or more.

NOTE: when a list of urls is loaded into either list box, it remains when another list of urls is subsequently loaded. The list simply gets bigger - with any duplicates removed. Great for building up your master list. Also, only urls with the form http://www.anarticlesite.com are added. Urls of the form http://this.is.an.articlesite.com are not.

You can repeat the process as often as you like to keep your list up-to-date. Or perhaps you might want to create a specific niche list?

Creating a niche list

This is where the Hit 'Enter' to clean option is used, which is found underneath the Article Dashboard sites list box.

As you can see left, we've loaded our master list and we want to get rid of all urls that contain the word cube (it's the third url down).

Hitting 'Enter' on your keyboard results in http://www.articlecube.com being removed from the list.

Repeat with as many other words as you want, for example, adult, or xxx etc.

Then save your new list.

Now we want to clean the list of everything but not urls that contain the word compilation.

This is achieved by checking the not checkbox as illustrated.

Hit 'Enter' on your own keyboard.

As you can see, left, the list has been cleaned of everything but not urls with the word compilation.

Simple, and a great way to build up a niche list.. Now save it as something memorable, e.g. my loans list.urls (if finance is your business, for example).

Confirm Dashboard site

The Confirm Dashboard site option, shown in action above, is extremely usefull for checking lists of sites, obtained from the Web, or elsewhere, to confirm they are indeed active article directories (powered by the Article Dashboard script).

NOTE: if you do use a list compiled from elsewhere, copy and paste the urls (they should be one per line) into Notepad, for example, and then save as my list.urls, or whatever. Note the .urls file extension - it must be saved as a .urls file in order for ADSubmitter to see it, not as a .txt or a .doc file.

NOTE: each url in your list must end with a forward slash (/), or ADSubmitter will not check the site. This is correct - http://www.an-article-site.com/. This is wrong - http://www.an-article-site.com.

So, make sure you check every url in your imported list for the forward slash! Boring, I know, but necessary.

Stop list

The Stop list option, which is activated by clicking the Stop list button underneath the Temporary list list box, allows you to filter out sites which either crash ADSubmitter, or are dubious in terms of content, pop-ups etc and you dont want ADSubmitter to go to.

Highlighthealth.com, as illustrated above, is one such site which crashes ADSubmitter (in fact, it is the ONLY site out of thousands which has crashed ADSubmitter - why it does so, I don't know).

To add a site to the list, enter the full url in the Enter url box and click the Add button. Then hit the Save button and navigate untill you see the file stoplist.urls (which is automatically added by ADSubmitter when you first install the program). Click the Hide button to return to the Temporary list.
